OPPORTUNITY: The Director of Operations is primarily responsible for overseeing all Operations and Support Services in support of the goals, objectives, and policies established by the COO of Advantage Ambulance, Inc. The function of the position is to direct and administer the activities of the operation and support services by performing duties personally and through the Director who report to this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish policies and procedures consistent with the COO’s broad policies and objectives and ensure their execution.
- Develop and install operating procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow within the company.
- Ensure that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.
- Ensure that all employees, who report to this position, have the required capability and training to fulfill their duties
- Support and enforce all company policies and procedures that relate to the Director of Operations’ areas of authority.
- Develop policy and coordinate safety activities in cooperation with Advantage Safety program requirements as set by the Director of Human Resources.
- Ensure all company policies, procedures, and forms comply with federal, state, and local employment rules, regulations, and laws.
- Ensure effective quality control and that corrective action takes place to be certain that complete customer satisfaction is achieved.
- Ensure all services are done on a timely and cost-effective basis.
- Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control communications department capacity.
- Reviews productivity and daily reports to determine progress towards company goals.
- Analyzes and controls expenditures of the Operations, Nursing and Support Services Departments and its related areas to conform to budgetary requirements.
- Develops and executes a manpower plan, and budgets based on company goals and objectives.
- In coordination with the other members of the management team, develop and install procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information and paper flow within the company.
- Evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and systematically and reports these results to the COO.
- Complete performance evaluations on all employees reporting to the position in a timely and routine manner.
- With the COO develop and implement a budget for Advantage’s operations, nursing and support services departments.
- Performs any other duties and tasks assigned by the COO.
Required Certifications:
- CA Driver License
- CA Ambulance Driver Certificate
- Medical Examiner’s Certificate
- CA State EMT and/or Paramedic Card (Gray Card/Blue Card)
- BLS Provider (CPR)
- Driver History Report in Compliance With Our Insurance Provider Requirements (DMV printout or online version)
Status: Full-Time, salaried position.
Required/Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in EMS, business, liberal arts, or in a related field (significant work experience may substitute for academic achievement).
- Minimum of five years experience in an emergency response service company with progressive responsibilities including scheduling, documentation, and material control.
- Considerable leadership experience
- Acceptable driving record determined by Advantage’s insurance carrier.

Advantage Ambulance offers of employment are contingent upon the successful outcome of a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and required certifications verification.
Compensation: $115,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
